A young Karratha rider has been selected for Pony Club WA’s State Dressage team on the back of a stellar 2021 season. Bella Pearce, 10, was selected as a member of the State Dressage squad in March after taking out Pony Club WA’s Under 12 most achieved rider title last year. Bella will travel to Perth for training show days three times this year, including one next month, as well as take part in the State Dressage Championships at the State Equestrian Centre. Her 2022 season will also include a slew of performances in the Pilbara, including the FeNaCING Horse of the Year show, Dressage by the Sea in Dampier and even travelling up to the Kimberley for the Broome Camp Draft and Rodeo. Bella said she had been riding since she was just two years old and it was amazing to make the team. “It’ll be great for me to have this experience,” she said. Bella said she worked hard to make the squad and had always loved horse riding. Karratha and King Bay Horse and Pony Club president Margaret Wallace said Bella had progressed amazingly during her years at the club. “We’re very proud of her as a club that she’s been selected,” she said. “That’s a big, big thing to be able to come from the Pilbara to go to Perth to ride in all the dressage down there. “It’s great. I’m very proud of her.” Bella will travel to the Serpentine Pony Club in June for the next State Dressage training show day.
