The City of Karratha will play host to one of the tourism industry’s biggest events later in the year.

The 2019 WA Tourism Conference will take place from September 16 to 18 and was awarded to the City in recognition of their significant commitment to growing the region’s tourism capacity and offering.

City of Karratha Mayor Peter Long said securing the 2019 WA Tourism Conference was a coup for the City.

“We are excited for the opportunity to showcase our unique and underrated adventure, nature and eco-cultural experiences to a state-wide audience,” he said.

This year will be only the second time the conference has been held in a regional location since it’s inception in 2015.
