Karratha taxi driver bashed, robbed in weekend attack

Karratha police are seeking information regarding a robbery an assault on a 53 year old taxi driver last weekend.

Police say the driver picked up three men on Balmoral road near Warmabie Road at about 10pm on Saturday, October 21.

The driver stopped the taxi on Balmoral Road near Hyde Road after the men became aggressive when asked about payment.

The men pulled the driver from the vehicle, assaulted him and stole a sum of money before fleeing the area.

The taxi driver was treated at Nickol Bay Hospital and received a possible broken arm.

One man is described as being in his 30s with dark skin, a solid build and shaved head wearing a black t-shirt and sneakers.

The other two men are described as being in their 20s with dark skin and solid builds. One had short curly hair.
