Karratha school leaders aim to inspire their fellow students

These young trailblazers have stepped into the roles of school leaders for 2021 and hope to be an inspiration to their peers. Karratha Senior High School school captains Grace Eversden and Aaralyn Ugle, pictured inset, and St Luke’s College Karratha 2021 head boy Sam Fleury and head girl Jade Adams, main picture, will represent their respective cohorts for 2021. The role models are each backed by a leadership team who will work together to guide their peers’ final year of schooling. Grace said she hoped to make high school a memorable experience. “I really love Karratha Senior High School and I think it would be cool to try and make the younger year groups love it as well and I think being school captain gives us the opportunity to do that,” she said. “Especially since 2020 and even 2021 now hasn’t had the greatest start, we still want to make it a really good memorable year.” Jade, who was inspired by previous leaders to run for head girl, said developing connections was this year’s goal for the executive team. “The entire executive wants to work on connections between the leadership group, future leaders, peers, students and teachers, and also connections with the school community and the wider community,” she said.
