A Karratha man has been fined more than $3000 for possessing steroids and drug paraphernalia. Steven Gray, 38, appeared before the Karratha Magistrate’s Court last week and pleaded guilty to a string of drug-related charges, including two charges of possession of steroids. He also pleaded not guilty to three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, three counts of offering to sell or supply methylamphetamine, and one charge of possession of a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply. Karratha detectives searched his Pilbara property at 7am on September 18 and uncovered a glass smoking pipe with traces of methylamphetamine, 16 vials of the anabolic steroid Trenbolone Acetate, and Stanozolol. Gray’s lawyer Ashley Wilson told the court Gray obtained the steroids in 2018 for a body-building competition and stopped using them afterwards. Magistrate Edward de Vries find Gray $3200 with costs of $249. He will next appear before the Karratha Magistrate’s Court on April 20 for his trial allocation date for the charge of offering to sell or supply drug charges.
