A charity campaign is calling on the generosity of the Karratha community to support women and girls in need this festive season.

As part of the annual It’s in the Bag campaign, Share the Dignity has encouraged locals to donate handbags filled with essential items, including pads, tampons, deodorants, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo and soap, for women experiencing homelessness, domestic violence or period poverty.

Share the Dignity founder Rochelle Courtenay said the charity was preparing for another donation deficit.

“We are seeing more vulnerable women and girls looking for support than ever before,” she said.

A collection box will be set up at Woolworths Karratha for the campaign running from November 19-28.
