Karratha Kats take down Falcons to remain unbeaten

The Karratha Kats remain the form team after they dispatched the Falcons in a one-sided contest in the latest round of the North Pilbara Football League Women’s competition. The undefeated Kats showed their skills early in the round 12 clash at Millars Well Oval on Thursday night, kicking three goals to the Falcons’ one in the opening term. A wasteful second term saw the Kats score six behinds despite controlling the ball for the majority of the quarter while the Falcons booted one goal to trail by 12 points at the main break. It was all Kats in the second half, with the home side scoring at will, piling on seven goals in the last two quarters to run away with a crushing victory. The final score saw Karratha Kats defeat Karratha Falcons 10.11 (71) to 2.0 (12). Kats remain on top of the ladder with an eye-watering percentage of 1589.36 after 10 straight victories while the Falcons sit in second, two games clear of the Hedland Blazers. Meanwhile in the other round 12 clash, the Sharks and Wolves battled it out at Wickham Oval. The scrappy clash saw the Wolves kick 2.1 to the Sharks 1.1 to lead by six points at half-time. Both teams struggled to score in the third quarter with the Sharks cutting the deficit to just one point at the final break. The Wolves took their chances in the last quarter kicking 1.4 to take the victory, 3.6 (24) to the Sharks’ 2.1 (13). The victory was the first win of the season for the Wolves, who have struggled with form this year.
