Karratha Kats secure third win of season with victory over Roebourne Magpies

Karratha Kats powered past Roebourne Magpies to secure their third win of the season and move into third on the Karratha Basketball Association ladder.

The round five game took place at the Karratha Leisureplex on November 10 with both sides tussling for control of the game early.

In the end, Kats showed their class and ran away to a dominant 16-point victory, 50-34.

Kats’ Tom Higgins scored 12 points and his teammate Connor Bradbury scored 10, while Kerwin Snook was the top scorer for Magpies with 12 points.

In the other round five games, Flames Gray trounced Pardoo Katz by 31 points, dominating the play to down their opponents 57-26.

Flames’ Jake Level (15) and Sebastian Edwards (11) were the top scorers.

Mayuga Majik defeated Flames Black 41-29 in an action-packed game and in the final game of the round for men’s division one, NBSC Warriors continued their strong form with a 10-point victory, defeating Trouts 58-48.

In the women’s competition, Flames Black had a competitive tussle with NSBC Lynx.

Both sides had their moments in the contest but Flames Black proved too strong, downing Lynx 38-20.

In the final women’s division one match, Trouts overpowered Cyclone Development 57-28.

Trouts were in control throughout, with Jordi Perry scoring at will with 22 points.
