Karratha Kats, Karratha Falcons notch up victories in North Pilbara Football League Women’s round four

The Karratha Kats’ strong form continued in round four of the North Pilbara Football League women’s competition with a dominant victory against the visiting Hedland Blazers. Taking place at Millars’ Well oval on May 14, Karratha Kats controlled the ball in the opening term but missed opportunities in front of goal scoring 1.6 to hold a 12-point lead at the first break. A more accurate second term followed with Kats extending their lead to 26 points at the main break while Hedland remained scoreless. An explosive third term ended with Kats blasting five goals to stamp their authority on the game before a game Blazers stopped the Kats from scoring any more goals in the final term and finally got on the board themselves. In the end Karratha Kats defeated Hedland Blazers 8.10 (58) to 1.0 (6). Daneele Ryan booted three goals for the Kats and was supported by Brodie Woods, Jessica Creighton, Sarah Ugle, Jaedey Evans and Ruby Bird who all scored one goal each. Jasinta Willcocks was the sole goal scorer for Hedland. In the other round four clash, Karratha Falcons showed their class in a one-sided clash against Wickham Wolves at Bulgarra Oval. The Falcons took the lead in the opening term and never looked back, running out to a 15-point lead at half time while conceding just one goal. It was more of the same in the second half with Falcons able to extend their lead without conceding any more points to win by 31 points. Karratha Falcons 5.7 (37) defeated Wickham Wolves 1.0 (0).
