Karratha golfers brave heat for Christmas Stableford event
About 34 golfers braved soaring temperatures to be part of a Christmas-themed Stableford event at the Karratha Golf Club last Saturday.
As the theme for the day was Christmas, everyone brought presents for prizes and fees were waived.
The event winner was Marguerite Jacka, who scored 22 points.
Mark Payne and Tasman Willet both finished with scores of 21 points each and came second and third respectively.
Payne also won best gross score with a total of 35 strokes for the day.
He also collected several novelty prizes, winning the categories of nearest the pin on No.5 and No.8 and long putt on No.4.
In the rest of the novelty categories, Willet won the long drive on No.3 prize, and Sunan Ong-Arch claimed best long drive on No.9.
The best second shot on #2 was won by Angie Beier✓ and best third shot on #6 went to Robert Fedorowicz.
