Jimeoin brings laughs
Hundreds of residents across the shire of Ashburton were treated to a night of laughs by comedian Jimeoin earlier this month.
Jimeoin performed his stand-up show in Pannawonica, Onslow, Paraburdoo and Tom Price from May 11-14.
Babysitters were in high demand across the four towns as adults enjoyed Jimeoin’s wit and observational sense of humour.
Supporting him was Perth comedian Janelle Koenig, who showed off her impressive improvisation skills and interacted with the crowd.
Shire of Ashburton president Kerry White said the shows were a boost for community spirit and social engagement.
“Having Jimeoin perform and interact with our residents made for a great night out,” she said.
“With tremendous support from our partners, the Shire is proud to have hosted such a highly acclaimed and entertaining show across all four towns.”
The shows were presented by the Shire in collaboration with Rio Tinto and Chevron’s Wheatstone Project. Rio Tinto general manager Paraburdoo operations Gabe Iwanow said the Jimeoin tour was an exciting event for the community.
“We are proud to work with the Shire of Ashburton through our Community Infrastructure and Services Partnership to support the delivery of events like this that brings everyone together for a night of laughter and fun,” she said.
“It’s a great way to foster a sense of place for locals and build community vibrancy.”
Chevron community engagement supervisor Erin Glancy said it was fantastic to see high-profile acts like Jimeoin make their way to Onslow.
