Jake Levey leads the way for Flames Division 1 Grey with 23 points in latest basketball round

Flames Division 1 Grey demolished Pardoo Katz by 19 points in round 18 of the Karratha Basketball Association to remain at the top of the ladder.

Flames were quick to take control in the first half at the Karratha Leisureplex on March 10, running out to a 31-19 lead at half-time.

A further massive 33 points from Flames in the second half sealed the game, with Flames defeating Pardoo Katz 64-45 in the high-scoring game.

Jake Levey was the stand-out player of the game, sinking 23 points for Flames while his teammate Jerome Leremia scored 18 points.

Sheldon Kitto was the top scorer for Pardoo Katz with his 12 points followed by Sealander Kevin with 11.

In the other division 1 game on March 10, third-placed Flames Division 1 Black were unable to overwhelm seventh-placed Mayuga Majik with the game ending in a tie 32-32.

The final two games of the round on March 11 saw Northern Spirit Suns crush Coral Trouts 28-26, and Northern Spirit Warriors obliterated Trouts by 37 points, 66-29.

In the women’s division 1 round 19, table-topper Flames Division 1 Black proved too strong for Northern Spirit Lynx, taking a 16-point victory and sealing the game 35-19.

The other game of the round saw second-placed Trouts Blue defeat third-placed Trouts White 32-13 as they sit on equal points on the ladder.
