Victim passes away after Nickol assault

The victim of an assault which occurred in Nickol on the weekend has passed away in hospital overnight.

The victim was located injured near a service station in Nickol on Saturday night and it is believed he had been at the Tambrey before the incident.

A 31-year-old man from Bulgarra was charged with grievous bodily harm following the assault yesterday.

That charge will be reviewed and may be upgraded once a Post Mortem examination is conducted.

The accused had been refused bail and appeared in the Karratha Magistrates Court yesterday.
