Nickol Junior Soccer Club has received a timely boost ahead of the start of the 2018 soccer season, with improvements made to its storage facility at the Tambrey pavilion.

The club was awarded a City of Karratha grant to purchase shelving and storage to ensure equipment can be accessed safely and protected from damage.

NJSC president Paul McComb said the grant was welcome news for the club. “As part of the Tambrey pavilion construction there was a space set aside from the club because it is our primary training ground,” he said.

“We just had stuff chucked it in there so this helps to better organise it and clean it up.”

Player registrations for teams competing in the Karratha and Districts Junior Soccer Association are open for the 2018 season.

McComb said Nickol’s teams already had strong numbers, but encouraged anyone interested to sign on to one of the other clubs in the competition.
