Girls in league of their own
Girls are kicking goals for the Karratha and Districts Junior Soccer Association with the launch of a girls-only league.
The combined under-9s and under-11s competition was launched earlier this year and is made up of six teams.
Nickol Junior Soccer Club coach Sean McLoughlin said there were girls in the team who would not have played if the girls-only competition had not started.
“The girls are loving it and some girls in the team have never played soccer before, so it’s great to have them involved,” he said.
The season will finish next month.
