Woolworths in Karratha and Wickham have launched a local community food drive to help Pilbara charities deliver high priority food relief items to people in need in the lead-up to Christmas. The week-long initiative runs from November 3 until November 9 and customers are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items in-store. Donated items will be distributed to a local community food relief charity partner or through Woolworths food relief partners, including OzHarvest, FareShare and Foodbank. Woolworths Karratha and Wickham group manager Daniel Gerritsen said food insecurity continued to be a issue across Australia. Essential food items include cereal, pasta, rice, coffee, tea, canned fruit and vegetables, baked beans and baby food.
