A second fire, believed to be deliberately lit, has stretched exhausted crews fighting the scrub fire near Tom Price to the limit.

Tom Price’s volunteer firies took to Facebook to express their dismay that someone had set a fire along Nameless Valley Drive, which has limited their response capacity.

A bushfire advice has been issued for the Tom Price townsite and Rio Tinto mine site in Tom Price.

Nanutarra-Munjina Road between Paraburdoo-Tom Price Road and Nameless Valley Road and Mine Road to Nanutarra Road have been closed.

The original fire at Mount Nameless started on October 8 and has been brought under control.

A bushfire watch and act for a breakout from the original fire has forced the closure of the Western Turner mine site as crews work along the access road.

Residents in the area have been asked to leave or get ready to actively defend their homes.

There is a possible threat to lives and homes and conditions are changing.

If anyone has any information on the person or persons responsible please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
