Fallen hiker rescued at Karijini

A female hiker believed to have fallen in a gorge at Karijini National Park, about 70km from Tom Price, has been rescued.

The woman aged in her fifties is believed to have fallen in Hamersley Gorge at about 9.30am this morning and injured her leg.

It is understood the Department of Fire and Emergency services coordinated a rescue operation with Tom Price SES volunteers, Tom Price police, St John Ambulance and a ranger.

They recovered the woman at about 1pm today.

She is being transported to Tom Price Hospital with a suspected broken ankle.
