The Falcons overcame an early deficit against the Geckos to storm into the West Pilbara Softball Association grand finals at Bulgarra Oval on Saturday afternoon. The semifinal kicked off with the Geckos scoring a five-run first innings to lead by two runs going into the second frame. In the second innings Falcons took control with a three-base hit from Shae Hawks bringing in two runs. From there Falcons never looked back, constantly putting Geckos’ fielders under pressure as they ran away with the game. A home run from Falcons Kaci Kent in the sixth frame was the nail in the coffin for Geckos, with the Falcons taking the dominant victory 14-6. The second semifinal saw Sinners and Storm go head to head, with the Storm demolishing Sinners by 16 runs, 23-7. Both sides were scoreless after two innings before the Storm’s batting line up got to work. A five-run fourth innings opened the flood gates for Storm.
