Donation helps out animals & business
Not-for-profit animal rescue organisation SAFE received a generous donation from Yara Pilbara last month when the fertiliser company pooled together vouchers to purchase pet supplies.
Yara purchased a range of supplies using spare Try Local vouchers, a City of Karratha and Karratha and Districts Chamber of Commerce and Industry initiative designed to boost the local economy following COVID-19.
This meant not only did SAFE benefit from the gesture, but local businesses did too.
SAFE founder Sue Hedley said the generous donation included toys, cat litter and water bottles.
“It was really so generous and lovely that they thought of SAFE,” she said.
“Local businesses benefited too so it was a real win-win.
“It just makes us be able to manage our animals so much better and financially it helps us too.
“Just to be able to have that support makes a big difference. It’s great that we are valued by them and we felt noticed and cared about.” A Yara spokesperson said it delivered $500 of supplies.
