The Exmouth community has rallied around those in need this Christmas by donating food and goods which have been used to create hampers.

The donations were collected by Shire of Exmouth staff, who were able to put together 24 food hampers and give them to Centacare for distribution to local families, couples and individuals in need.

Shire president Matthew Niikkula thanked the community for their generous support of the 2018 Community Christmas Hamper Appeal.

“This is the third year we have run the Christmas hamper collection and it is fantastic to see the community get behind the collection, support locals in need and help to spread some Christmas joy,” he said.

Mr Niikkula said this would not have been possible without the help of local community groups and businesses who acted as collection points for food donations.

“The success of the hamper appeal speaks volumes about our community, Exmouth people are always willing to lend a hand in difficult times.”
