The Dampier Taverners skittled Karratha Kats for 42, chasing down the score in just five overs on their way to a 10 wicket victory. The round five clash of the West Pilbara Cricket Association took place at Millars Well Oval on November 23 with Kats winning the toss and batting first. Dampiers’ Kiara Ganzer got the fielding side off to a great start, castling opener Peta Frost for a four ball duck before dismissing Stacey Harper for just one run to leave the Kats stumbling at 2/6. Wickets continued to fall with Brooklyn Noble and Kacey Biebrick picking up two scalps each as the Kats batting lineup folded under the pressure for 42 runs in the 17th over. Jodie Darvall and Charlotte Morley top scored with seven runs. Ganzer and Ash Knox came out firing for Dampier’s run chase, with the pair smashign seven boundaries to chase down the small total in jut the fifth over. The final score saw Dampier Taverners finish 0/47 to win by 10 wickets. Knock blasted 23 runs from 16 deliveries including four fours while Ganzer scored 19 from 12 with three fours. The other round five game saw Pegs Creeks Crabs edge out Karratha Falcons in a final ball thriller to extend their unbeaten run. Katelyn Arnold (32) with support from opener Alexa Naprasnik (25) helped guide Falcons to a defendable 6/123 off their 20 overs. Jessica Jones was the standout bowler with 2/9 from her three overs. In reply Crabs lost regular wickets despite a fighting 30 from Kassie Patterson before Jessica Creighton came to the pitch. Creighton blasted 40 from 23 to get her side home including a four off the final delivery to see her side finish on 6/125 and snatch the four wicket victory.
