Dampier Sharks continue to dominate the North Pilbara Football League after stunning the Karratha Kats on Saturday with a 45-point win. Dampier controlled the ball in opening term of the round 11 clash at Millars Well Oval as they looked to score their 11th win of the season. The scrappy first term saw the visitors take a 14-point lead into the first break after they kept the Kats scoreless in the opening quarter. A three-goal second term helped the Sharks break the game open while the Kats were left to rue missed opportunities after kicking 1.4 to trail by 25 points at the main break. The Sharks remained consistent in the third quarter as they continued to dominate the scoreboard, booting 4.1 to the Kats 1.1. Another three goals in the final quarter saw the Sharks cruise to a crushing 45-point victory as they remain the standout team of the competition. The final score was Dampier Sharks 12.10 (82) defeat Karratha Kats 5.7 (37). Guy Langdon booted three goals for the Sharks while his teammates Mitchell Grose and Harrison Weeding kicked two each. Dylan Hansen was the top scorer for the Kats with two goals. A final-quarter rally in the reserves game saw Karratha overwhelm the tiring Sharks 13.3 (81) to 9.6 (60). The home side trailed by 22 points at the main break after being outworked in the opening half of the game. The Kats returned from half time fired-up and kicked their way back into the contest to cut the deficit to just eight points at the final break. It was all Karratha in the last quarter, the home side booting five goals to steal the win.
