Creative talent lauded at awards celebration

Dampier Community Hub was a hive of activity on Friday, March 23 as artists and guests came together to get the first glimpse of the spectacular array of art on display at the Dampier Art Awards.

The opening night involved canapes, refreshments, live music and the announcement of award winners under seven categories.

This year’s awards, hosted by Dampier Community Association, attracted more than 70 entries from experienced and emerging artists in the City of Karratha.

The winning artworks will be displayed in the Dampier Community Hub foyer for a six-week period after the opening night.
