There was a great turnout of players all weekend at the Karratha Golf Club, with 50 competing in Saturday’s 18-hole Stableford event and 40 at Sunday Scroungers’ nine holes.

It was a high-scoring weekend all round as well, with 14 of Saturday’s field playing to their handicaps or better, and five players achieving the top score on Sunday.

Winning the Stableford competition on Saturday with a massive 42 points was Sam Crawford, who shot six pars and a birdie off a 21 handicap.

David Prestidge narrowly missed the win despite 10 pars and a birdie, coming in with 41 points.

In third-place in the Stableford, losing on the countback thanks to a bogie on 18, but winning best gross for the day with 69 off the stick, was Tony Knowlson. Best lady with a fabulous score of 38 points was Beryl Lynn, and best vet, putting in a solid round, was Monica Plane.

In the Sunday Scroungers event, Sunan Ong-Arch won with a par on 18 for three points and a birdie on 17. She hit massive drives down the middle of the fairway all day and nailed most of her putts.

Ong-Arch also won Wednesday’s 18-hole competition.
