Pilbara, Mid West and Gascoyne photographers are invited to submit their best shots to a nature photography competition.

Entries to Create Ranger Parks and the WA Photographic Federation’s Heart of Our Outback competition close on August 1.

There are two categories: natural landscapes; and native plants or wildlife found in the Pilbara, Mid West or Gascoyne regions.

Short-listed images will be exhibited in late August at the Gary Holland Community Centre in Rockingham. A $1000 prize is up for grabs for the winning entrant.

The competition aims showcase the landscapes and nature of WA’s Outback heart as well as to raise awareness of a proposal to create a new network of national parks, managed by indigenous rangers, in Outback WA.
