Close match at Karratha Golf Club Stableford event

Karratha Golf Club hosted a Stableford event on Saturday, which drew a good turnout considering the windy conditions.

Aub Laing was the overall best on the green for the day, finishing with a score of 42.

He was closely followed by Brian Gill, who came second on a countback, and Ron Gillies, both with 41 points.

Tony Knowlson claimed the best gross score prize with a 73 strokes total.

The ladies’ long drive winner was Lynda Giles while Mik Whitecross won the men’s long drive.

Wayne Martin, Tyson Bertrend and Wez Lyn all won best shot honours.

The day’s nearest the pin winners included Steve McNally, Bill Hutchinson, Jackson Taylor and Bradley Beier, who also collected the longest putt on #9 prize.

Visitors to the course this week were John Murray from the Perth Golf Network, Jackson Taylor from Narooma Golf Club, Keith Lynch from Newcastle Golf Club, Mandurah’s Mark Harlem, Ledge Point’s Robert Green and Sharon Bristow and John Pember from Lake Karrinyup Golf Club.
