Experts from the Broome Bird Observatory and BirdLife Australia will be attending to help identify bird species, pass on some birdwatching tips and provide information on bird species found in the Pilbara.

Woodside environment general manager Jarrod Pittson said the event would boost birdwatchers’ knowledge.

“As part of this event, the Muru-juga Land and Sea Unit Rangers will also have the opportunity to learn about established birdwatching protocols and databases, which they can then use to continue to monitor shorebirds on Murujuga,” he said.

Participants who have registered will assemble at Withnell Bay, then separate into groups to observe birds in different habitat areas.
