Beer cheer brewing for October

Pilbara beer lovers can rejoice as two of the region’s most popular events will go ahead later this year.

While COVID-19 forced the cancellation of many events and left others in doubt, Dampier’s Brew and the Moo and North West Oktoberfest in Karratha and Hedland will return in October.

Brew and the Moo organiser David Yakas from Wrapped Creations said the easing of restrictions was a relief.

“Events foster vibrant, culturally rich and connected communities,” he said.

“Knowing that some of our vendors have been battling hard to keep their businesses afloat this year, making the calls to confirm the dates and sign the contracts has been a really great feeling.”

Oktoberfest organiser Bart Parsons said he was glad to present the event after what had been a tough couple of months for the community.

“It has been a really odd three or four months and with all the other events cancelled like the City events, FeNaClNG and stuff like that, we are looking forward to hopefully having a bumper crowd,” he said.

Brew and the Moo will be held on October 23 and 24, while Oktoberfest will be on October 17 in Karratha and October 31 in Hedland.
