VideoQantas fears its fuel bill could hit $3.3 billion as the cost of jet refining fuel soars, with the Flying Kangaroo axing some domestic routes to help supply international demand.

Perth motorists will have to contend with another price rise on Wednesday, as unleaded petrol prices appear to revert to the old cycle and spike mid-week.

A FuelWatch alert shows the average price of ULP across the metropolitan area will rise six cents tomorrow to 213.9c per litre, as will PULP to 229.6c per litre, and 98 RON to 239.2c per litre.

Several Vibe and Burk fuel stations will be the cheapest in Perth, but elsewhere prices will be rising significantly: Caltex’s average price will balloon to 239.9c per litre, and BP and 7/11 will increase to 229.9c per litre.

Despite the hike, 26 stations around the metropolitan area will be selling ULP for under 194c per litre, and FuelWatch has reminded motorists that filling up at the cheapest locations will save substantial cash.

“Buying fuel from the cheapest site rather than the most expensive, a difference of 64 cpl, means motorists can potentially save $38 on a 60-litre tank,” a FuelWatch statement said.

There is small but nonetheless welcome relief for motorists using diesel on Wednesday, as average prices dip to 307.1c per litre, and 316.9c per litre for brand diesel.

Where to find the cheapest petrol in Perth on Tuesday:

  • Vibe Forrestfield in the East, with 191.7c per litre
  • Vibe Oakford Truckstop and Vibe Welshpool in the South, with 185.7c per litre
  • Vibe Beechboro in the North, with 186.9c per litre

Where to find the cheapest petrol in Perth on Wednesday:

  • Vibe Kalamunda in the East, with 189.7c per litre
  • Burk Cannington and Burk Oakford in the South, with 185.3c per litre
  • Burk Bassendean, Burk Landsdale, and Burk Mount Lawley in the North, with 191.3c per litre

Perth is the only city in the State to experience a price rise apart from Karratha — Albany, Bunbury, Busselton, Esperance, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie/Boulder, and Port and South Hedland will all see slight dips in ULP price.
