VideoJoondalup train services are running as normal after a technical fault caused commuter chaos on Thursday.

Transperth staff have worked through the night to repair a technical fault on the Joondalup train line that caused commuter chaos on Thursday afternoon.

Services between the Whitford and Stirling stations were cancelled just before midday when a crack in the tracks was discovered.

Rail replacement bus services were needed to ferry thousands of afternoon commuters as technicians worked to fix the track.

Trains were again running between the two stations at 5.30am but Transperth have warned passengers to expect minor delays.
