Pride round comes to the North Pilbara Football League as Dampier and Karratha Kats continue on strong form

Karratha Kats remain unbeaten in all seven games this season, while their nearest chasers Dampier Sharks are still right on their tail. The Kats easily overcame the South Hedland Swans 16.17 (113) to 7.4 (46) in the the North Pilbara Football League’s Pride round. The Sharks extended their unbeaten run to six games as they downed the fifth-placed Karratha Falcons 27.4 (176) to 2.8 (20). The Sharks, the only side to trouble the Kats so far when they drew 75-75 with them in round four, stay in second place on the ladder. In the men’s league the Wickham Wolves solidified their third spot on the ladder with a 17.6 (108) to 8.11 (59) win over Port Hedland Rovers. The Kats women’s team made it seven from seven as they beat Hedland Blazers 12.5 (77) to 1.0 (6). Elsewhere in women’s action, Karratha Falcons lost to Dampier 2.1 (13) to 6.7 (43) and Wickham overcame Port Hedland 6.3 (39) to 2.0 (12). Karratha Kats take on the Wickham next week in a clash between the first and third-placed teams.
