A Woman has been charged in relation to a Hedland death

A woman in her 30s has been charged with the murder in relation to an incident in Hedland on Monday.

At around 10pm on Monday night a man, 34, who had been on a mobility scooter was found injured and lying on Kennedy Street near Banksia Street in South Hedland.

The man was taken to hospital but died a short time later.

The woman, 32, is believed to know the man and was expected to appear before the South Hedland Magistrates Court today.

Major crash investigators and homicide detectives flew into Hedland this morning.

A Banksia Street resident, who did not want to be named, said they heard commotion in the area last night.

“I heard a lot of yelling earlier on in the night, but it’s pretty normal to hear around here,” they said.
