Pink Pilbara Breakfast: Record funds raised for Hedland Well Women’s Centre at annual charity event

One of Port Hedland’s most anticipated charity events, the Pink Pilbara Breakfast, brought hundreds of locals together to raise crucial funds for the Hedland Well Women’s Centre. Held at the Esplanade Hotel on August 30, this year’s event saw around 300 guests dressed in pink enjoying a breakfast spread while listening to speeches and participating in a live auction. In its 18th year, the breakfast raised a record-breaking $120,000 for the organisation, all of which will go directly to HWWC’s cancer support services. Those funds will help expand mass education initiatives, screenings for cancer, group support programs, and a cancer rehabilitation physiotherapy services, all of which aim to provide vital care. Married at First Sight former contestant Lucinda Light was on MC duties and said she was humbled and honoured to be involved in such a strong community event. Local businesses and volunteers also played a significant role, contributing raffle prizes, sponsoring tables, and lending a hand to ensure the event’s success. HWWC chief executive Kianna Barker said each year, the community rallies behind this important cause and displays huge generosity, compassion and care to support each other. “Every dollar raised from this event goes back to supporting local women,” she said. “Thank you to everyone who continues to get behind this event and make a difference to local families.” Last year, the Pink Pilbara Breakfast raised a whopping $115,000.
