Pilbara youngsters take advantage of new Shire development

Danielle RaffaeleNorth West Telegraph

Local youngsters in the Shire of East Pilbara are already taking full advantage of a new playground installed at Nullagine’s Gallop Park.

The $250,000 project was completed last month and includes an architecturally designed winged shade structure, a swing set, excavator, slide, balance platforms and climbing course.

Shire president Anthony Middleton said children were enjoying the new playground.

“The new playground is an exciting facility we’ve added for Nullagine and is already getting a lot of use by the community,” he said.

“The project is just one example of how the Shire aims to improve liveability throughout our region.”

Pilbara MLA Kevin Michel said the new playground was a “significant asset” for Nullagine.

“It is fantastic to see both local and State governments partnering with local industry to support East Pilbara communities,” he said.

Money was provided through the Shire, Novo Resources and Lotterywest.
