Delayed by the global pandemic, the Port Hedland Cricket Association finally held their end-of-year wind-up at the weekend, just one week before the Ray Stoddart T20 series starts again.

Jarrad O’Dea capped off a rewarding season personally with a swag of awards including the prized Cricketer of the Year trophy.

O’Dea, the captain of Port Hedland Cricket Club, was already well known for his bowling prowess but had a breakout season with the bat which placed him at the top of this year’s rankings with 609.5 points, almost 150 points ahead of second-place Chris Briody on 468 points.

The all-rounder was the top combined wicket taker across the Twenty20 and 35-over competition, taking out the bowling aggregate trophy with 34 wickets, as well as the bowling average trophy with 5.63.
