Volunteers who support people in need by providing them with low-cost food are overjoyed with the generosity of others assisting them in their endeavours.

Manjimup Pantry is a monthly event held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church to provide people with low cost food and other essentials.

The program received a 700L freezer earlier this year, donated by LJ Hooker Pemberton Manjimup, for frozen meat and vegetables.

Pastor Ross Craig said it was the biggest chest freezer Retravision could special order.

“Retravision installed it for free and gave LJ Hooker a discount on the cost,” he said.

“People are so happy to be able to afford meat. Thank you so much for the support, it has been incredibly beneficial.

Pastor Craig said Manjimup Pantry volunteers were still interested in receiving donations that could be used towards making the programs self-sustainable.

“We would love the loan of a refrigerated truck and a driver on Wednesday mornings to pick up produce,” he said. “This program really helps people.”
