West Aussies: The postcodes with the most Lotto wins have finally been revealed!
New data compiled by the Lott has examined all 492 Division One wins across Australia through FY26 and has determined the luckiest postcodes for punters across each state.
Western Australia was the fourth most successful State when it came to playing Lotto — with 87 Divison One winners and a total jackpot of $259.9m won across WA.
Nearly three in four of the WA winners became millionaires from their Lotto jackpots, with 65 punters taking home more than $1 million in winnings.
Two postcodes tied for the crown of WA’s Luckiest Suburb — with one Perth metropolitan area and one South West town both battling for the title.
Morley in Perth’s north-east and Australind were the top spots for winning Lotto tickets, with both postcodes selling three Division One winners in the financial year.
Booragoon won the silver medal, with news agencies in the southern suburb being behind two massive Lotto wins.
The State’s second largest win — a Divison One jackpot worth $25m — hailed from the suburb, being sold at Garden City Lottery Centre.
Despite the massive October jackpot from Booragoon, one West Aussie punter came out even richer after playing Powerball a month later.
The year’s biggest WA win was a staggering $50 million jackpot, won by an online player in November.
Other postcodes that landed in WA’s top five included Geraldton in the Mid West and Margaret River in the South West — with both regional towns selling two Division One winners.
The data isn’t just limited to postcodes, however.
The research also analysed council and shire boundaries to determine what local government areas in WA were the luckiest to play in.
The City of Melville produced six Division One winners, with their jackpots combining to a jaw-dropping $32.54m.
Further south, there were six more Division One wins residing in the City of Mandurah — although their total winnings were a slightly lower $24.86m.
The Shire of Harvey was ranked as the third luckiest WA region, with four winning entries coming from the South West locale.
Harvey was the only non-metropolitan shire ranked in WA’s Top 5, with the remaining LGAs all located in Perth’s north.
The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said the new research shows some postcodes have enjoyed a memorable run of Division One wins.
“While metropolitan areas featured strongly, FY26 also delivered major wins to plenty of regional and remote towns, proving lottery luck can land just about anywhere,” he said.
The new study comes just one day after a Mirrabooka local scooped up a Division One win in Wednesday’s Millionaire Medley.
