One lucky punter in the South West is set for life after scoring a winning ticket that will deliver $20,000 a month for the next 20 years.

The Division One Set for Life ticket, which was the only winning ticket across Australia, was sold at Dalyellup News and Lottery in the Shire of Capel.

The lucky win on Thursday night has earnt the ticketholder a whopping prize worth $4.8 million, with the monthly installments over two decades setting the punter up for a financially stable future.

It’s the second Set for Life win in the South West in four weeks, after a Margaret River newsagency sold a winning ticket last month.

Dalyellup News owner Rikhikumar Patoliya said it was a “big deal” for him to sell the winning Division One ticket.

“I was feeling that something is coming. I’ve had the store for three years, I’ve sold many Division Two winning tickets but always missing that last winning number,” Mr Patoliya said.

“My customers have been telling me a Division One win is coming for my store soon and it’s happened!

“I’ll be so happy if it is a local person, my customers and staff are going to be so excited.”

Lotterywest spokesperson Zoe Wender said the South West seems to be the top spot to buy a lottery ticket in 2026 after the two massive wins.

“A Division One win is so exciting for the South West community,” she said.

“We cannot wait to meet the winner of this life-changing prize, who has two decades of wins to look forward to.”

WA players who missed out on the massive win can try at nabbing a windfall this weekend, with the Saturday Lotto offering a $10 million prize.
