Boulder have assumed outright first place in the Goldfields Football League’s reserves standings after a 66-point rout of Mines Rovers, 17.8 (110) to 6.8 (44), in last Saturday’s Rivalry Round clash at Digger Daws Oval.
With the teams heading in locked on eight wins, a tight clash was expected but the Tigers put the result to bed early with a nine-goals-to-one first half.
Boulder maintained the same level of dominance after the long break, with 8.6 that was led by Bryant Best and Lewis Johns, each with four goals.
Justin Du Toit kicked three as the yellow-and-blacks this season pursue a fourth consecutive reserves premiership under Brenton Marr.
Chris Strano was the best of Mines Rovers’ forwards, with two goals.
Since losing to the Diorites by a point in round eight, Boulder have won their past four games in a row.
Kalgoorlie beat Railways by 19 points, 10.4 (64) to 6.9 (45), in the other reserves clash at Sir Richard Moore Sports Centre.
The Roos secured a fourth victory after they rallied for 4.1 in the last term.
In the colts, Boulder beat Mines Rovers by 53 points, 13.17 (95) to 6.6 (42), and Railways upstaged Kalgoorlie by 17 points, 11.7 (73) to 8.8 (56).
