Statistics reveal more than one million Australians over the age of 50 and more than five million people over the age of 25 do not have a will.

In an effort to address these statistics, the Salvation Army will have a Community Wills Day on August 22 in Kalgoorlie-Boulder while raising funds for the local community.

Ellery Brookman and McKenzie & McKenzie Barristers & Solicitors have donated their time and expertise for the day to draw up wills for individuals and couples in return for a donation to the Salvation Army.

The donation of $100 per individual or $150 per couple will make a difference, helping the Salvation Army fund their work supporting people in need within Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the surrounding region.

Losing a loved one is extremely difficult but it can be made even harder for the family if a will is not prepared.

Having an up-to-date legal will is the only way to ensure requests are carried out correctly following a death.

Many people avoid talking about it but having a will is important for the future of an individual’s family and loved ones.

Places are limited and bookings are essential. To secure a place, book online at salvationarmy.org.au/willsday or call 1800 337 082.
