Goldfields Football League’s women’s program has chalked-up more accolades after a strong local contingent led Subiaco’s regional team to a dominant showing at this week’s girls’ youth series in Perth.
Thirteen local players earned selection for the two-day carnival, against rival teams who were similarly aligned with WAFL clubs.
They proved to be key selections, with Subiaco winning each of their six games.
Mid West, Wheatbelt and Great Southern, who are zoned to East Fremantle, West Perth and Claremont, respectively, were Subiaco’s losing opponents on the opening day.
The Lions followed up on Tuesday with victories against Peel (Peel Thunder), Mid West and Wheatbelt, at Lightning Park in Noranda.
GFL’s contingent included Sarah Jones as assistant coach.
