In this week’s Harvey-Waroona Reporter, A Harvey-based citrus grower has presented a new mandarin varietal complimented by a bumper citrus season across WA, Students at the WA College of Agriculture Harvey are hoping to mitigate their carbon footprint by auditing the schools farming processes and HBL product Ethan Hughes was dropped from the Fremantle side, replaced by rebounder Hayden Young.

A Harvey-based citrus grower has presented a new mandarin varietal, the release of the new seedless Tangold is set to be complimented by a bumper citrus season across WA.

The high-sugar, easy-peel, seedless varietal was produced through the University of California breeding program and Mr Eckersley’s first crop will hit supermarket shelves across WA this week.

Students at the Western Australian College of Agriculture Harvey are looking to go green, after undertaking carbon audits at the school’s farm.

The year 12 students are looking at greenhouse gas outputs of the school’s dairy, beef, sheep and horticulture farms.

Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault product Ethan Hughes was dropped from the Fremantle side that faced the Swans on Sunday, replaced by stylish rebounder Hayden Young.

The clash was the first time Hughes, pictured, has missed a game purely for selection reasons since late 2019, and comes just one week after returning from an 11-week shoulder injury.
