Tragedy strikes WA’s Great Southern region with two fatal crashes in three days

WA’s Great Southern has been rocked by two fatal crashes in three days.

About 6.55pm on Tuesday, a 75-year-old man was driving along Sugg Road in Cartmeticup, north of Katanning, when it is believed his vehicle struck a kangaroo.

The collision caused him to lose control of his Volvo Sedan, which left the road and truck a tree.

The Woodanilling man, the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.

The second fatal crashed occurred about 5.40pm on Thursday in Tarin Rock, east of Lake Grace.

A Toyota Hilux towing a caravan was travelling along Dumbleyung-Lake Grace Road, about 200m west of Hills Road, when it left the road and rolled.

The driver, a man in his 50s, died at the scene.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Major Crash investigators are calling for information about the Tarin Rock crash.
