CSBP Fertilisers announces partnership with Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association of WA to train new drivers

Rural volunteer bushfire brigades are set to benefit from a new partnership with fertiliser giants CSBP which aims to boost the brigades’ readiness and response capabilities.

CSBP has teamed up with the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services Association of WA and will provide scholarships for heavy rigid vehicle licences in every VFRSAWA zone.

This will help more brigade members gain the qualifications to operate emergency service response vehicles.

The partnership will also help increase engagement with volunteers and provide extra support to regional brigades.

Speaking in Katanning, CSBP Fertilisers general manager Ryan Lamp said teaming up with the VFRSAWA was part of the company’s commitment to regional communities.

“Like VFRSAWA, CSBP has worked alongside regional WA communities for more than a century and we understand the important role local fire and rescue services play in helping keep those communities safe,” he said.

“This partnership will help VFRSAWA continue its important work supporting brigades across WA.”

The association represents about 2500 volunteers across 99 brigades in WA.

VFRSAWA executive officer Tim Sonsee said the partnership would strengthen brigade response capability and help his organisation support its volunteers across the State.

“VFRSAWA is humbled and honoured to be partnered with CSBP in providing further support and advocacy for our 2500 volunteers and we are extremely grateful for the partnership,” he said.

“Our volunteers are the heart of our organisation and the communities they serve.

“They give their time, skills and care to protect people on some of their most difficult days, and this partnership with CSBP is an important recognition of that dedication.”
