Geraldton Turf Club will run a midweek meet this Thursday, its last meet before Melbourne Cup day.

The day will feature a full race card, with two maidens and six handicaps listed so far.

The first midweek meet last month drew a good spring crowd, while Ladies’ Day last Sunday drew the best in fashion and flair from the region.

Turf club chair Brian O’Dwyer praised the “fashions, the magnificent crowd, the colour, and exciting racing” on the day.

O’Dwyer also announced upgrades to the stables area, starting immediately.
