The race meeting scheduled for Geraldton Turf Club on Thursday has been postponed to Saturday because of heat.

Stewards and vets from Racing and Wagering WA - after discussions with the Bureau of Meteorology - decided the meeting couldn’t be conducted safely.

The temperature at 2pm on Thursday, 20 minutes before the first race, is tipped to be 41 with just a nine-knot sea breeze.

The seven races will be held on Saturday, with an early start time.
