
A dozen plane passengers were caught up in a terrifying mid-air scare near Rottnest Island after the pilot declared an emergency during their flight.
The small commercial plane left Jandakot Airport for Shark Bay on Thursday morning but was forced to turn around when police received a report the Metro liner twin-engine commercial passenger aircraft was in distress about 8.40am.
Police, St John Ambulance and five DFES crews were at Jandakot Airport ready to assist.
The aircraft landed safely about 8.55am and no injuries were reported.
