A second man has been charged after a Sydney rideshare driver was knocked unconscious following a confrontation with a passenger.

Police found the 27-year-old driver unconscious in the street at North Kellyville in the city's northwest after they received reports of a fight between two men about 3am on Sunday.

A 19-year-old North Kellyville man was arrested nearby a short time later.

A 22-year-old North Kellyville man - who was also a passenger in the Toyota Camry sedan - was arrested on Sunday afternoon, charged with common assault and affray and given bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on May 5.

The driver remains in Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
