Homicide squad investigate Mandurah death

Update: Homicide Squad detectives have charged a relative of an elderly man who was found dead in Mandurah on Sunday night.

The man’s body was discovered when police were called to a home on Mandurah Terrace about 9.45pm.

Once inside they found the man in his 70s dead.

A person known to the man, believed to be a close relation, has been assisting police with their inquiries.

Late on Monday afternoon police confirmed they had charged a 31-year-old Mandurah man with murder.

The man is due to appear in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Homicide Squad detectives, with the assistance of Mandurah detectives, have been investigating the incident since Sunday evening.

Forensic officers were still at the scene most of Monday gathering evidence.
